Black Lives Matter Open Eye Art Mural
In solidarity with the Black Lives Matter protests following the passing of George Floyd, Color Outside the Lines collaborated with Jennifer W. Mark of Open Eye Art to paint a colorful mural in downtown Portland located on the corner of 4th and SW Alder. The project brought together a diverse group of youth from NAYA Family Center, community leaders, and artists to help beautify the city at the height of the pandemic. The mural featured colorful designs with empowering words about hope and compassion, in hopes of inspiring an ethos of communal healing at the epicenter of Portland’s unrest. To this day, the murals remain free from graffiti, which we hope is a byproduct of the positive message the art aims to convey.
