Color Outside the Lines worked with the Oregon-based artist Jess Brinkerhoff to create a mural outside of Meraki Coffee Co. Completed in November of 2023, this mural was our first project completed in Eugene, Oregon. The mural is a site-specific artwork that features the native plants of Eugene, including oak trees, acorns, and various flowers, to honor the beauty of Lane County. A vibrant red blossom to the right of the piece stands out in sharp contrast against the mural’s monochrome palette, and serves as a symbolic representation of the unique gifts and distinctive brilliance inherent in each of us. 

Our ambitious youth worked tirelessly to complete the mural during the chilly month of December. With instruction from Jess, each child also made an individual work of art that they could bring home with them, protected in a glass frame.
