Field Trips and Nature Adventures

As a core part of our outreach, Color Outside the Lines offers fully-funded field trips that offer creative enrichment and connect our youth with the broader community. We believe that all youth deserve opportunities to continue learning, growing, and make new connections outside the classroom. Our field trips take students to local performances, galleries and museums, sporting events, and out into the natural world. Through these group excursions, students cultivate meaningful relationships with their peers, expand their network, and gain invaluable, character-building experiences in community-based spaces. In the past, our trips have taken students to theater shows in Portland, OMSI, Oaks Park, and the Children’s Museum, among other places.

Collaborating with other local organizations, we curate a vast range of outings for our youth in art, nature, and entertainment. Our unique partnerships allow us to offer youth once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Previously, we have worked with Portland Trail Blazer Jerami Grant and Hour Generation Foundation to offer more than 60 youth in our network the chance to attend their first Blazer game, and every year our partnership with Snowdays Foundation takes an adventurous group of students on a snowboarding trek in the Cascades. Through nature adventures, we hope to provide youth with engaging, nourishing experiences and help them develop a greater sense of connection, belonging, and self-awareness.
